CA District Attorney Tells Police To “Consider Needs Of Looters”

(ConservativeUnit)- A district attorney in California has issued guidance to police officers in her county telling them to – wait for it – consider the needs of looters before they charge them with crimes. It effectively means that looters could get away with a slap on the wrist – or maybe even a pat on the back – if police officers are made to consider their “needs.”

At this point, California’s leaders behave as if they are Republicans pretending to be Democrats. They embody every stereotype of Democrats, from emboldening and forgiving criminals to stopping people from going to work because of a virus that is in retreat.

Reports suggest that Costa County District Attorney Diana Becton is capitulating the mob, and is even suggesting that police officers should consider whether the “target business is open or closed” at the time they do the looting. She is also reportedly telling officers that they should consider the “manner and means” of the looters who illegally enter the properties and steal.

RedState reports that Becton wants police officers to “promote consistent and equitable filing practices” and, to do this, they should ask several questions, including:

“Was this theft offense substantially motivated by the state of emergency, or simply a theft offense which occurred contemporaneously to the declared state of emergency?”

Becton also told officers to consider the “nature/quantity/value of the goods targeted” and ask “was the theft committed for financial gain or personal need?” which, of course, is hard to tell. Many might argue that they personally need those Nike sneakers they stole from a store in Chicago, but others might suspect they are stealing them to sell them.

Either way, what does it matter?

If you thought you recognize the name Becton, you probably do. This is the same district attorney who charged a couple with a “hate crime” for painting over Black Lives Matter murals on the street in front of the Wakefield Taylor Courthouse.

A hate crime!

Well, I guess we know the rules now. Painting over murals bad, looting stores good.
