(ConservativeUnit)- North Korean communist dictator Kim Jong Un has reportedly threatened to expand his nation’s nuclear weapons system during a rare party congress, potentially posing a threat to the rest of the world as the nation suffers extreme economic hardship.
The first congress of the Worker’s Party in Pyongyang since 2016, Kim revealed how he plans to increase North Korea’s “nuclear war deterrence” in what appears to be a threat to the incoming Biden administration.
It follows a nuclear summit between Kim and President Donald Trump, which began breaking down in early 2019.
According to the Korean Central News Agency, Kim has called on his military to develop its greatest military power and nuclear deterrence yet.
A report from The Associated Press also said that North Korea cited United States hostility as a reason for rebuilding its nuclear weapons system.
Kim reportedly called the United States North Korea’s “main enemy.”
“Whoever takes office in the US, its basic nature and hostile policy will never change,” he said.
And with Joe Biden set to take the White House on January 20, things don’t look good on diplomatic grounds. President Donald Trump came closer than any American politician in history to negotiating some kind of peace agreement with the communist nation, and Biden’s questionable election has put an end to the Trump administration’s efforts.
During the party congress, Kim listed a number of sophisticated weapons systems that were currently being developed by the North Korean military, including underwater-launched nuclear missiles, multi-warhead missiles, and solid-fueled long-range missiles. The communist dictatorship is also reportedly planning on launching a new spy satellite.
It comes as North Korea faces its greatest economic challenges yet, with its borders completely closed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The nation has not yet secured any vaccinations from Western countries and there is no indication so far that the country has been able to develop its own vaccine.
Despite the pandemic having reached every other part of the planet, North Korea claims that there has been no case of COVID-19 inside its borders so far.
It remains unclear whether North Korea is capable of developing the weapons systems promised by Kim, but the messaging is clear – there won’t be peace with Biden and the United States any time soon.
