(ConservativeUnit)- Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas publicly excoriated Pete Buttigieg on Thursday about President Joe Biden’s shocking decision to cancel the Keystone XL Pipeline project on his first day in the White House.
The decision immediately kills roughly 60,000 jobs, impacting the lives of working Americans at a time when jobs are needed the most. Did Biden forget that there’s a pandemic on?
Cruz slammed Buttigieg and far-left Democrats for supporting the decision after he falsely claimed that the cancelling of the permit for the pipeline would produce “millions” of jobs.

After slamming Biden’s decision that destroyed 8,000 union jobs and contracts worth $1.6 billion, Cruz asked Buttigieg what he says to those who just lost their jobs because of President Biden.
“I think one of the most important things is to make sure that we make good on the promise of the president’s climate vision as being one that, on net, creates far more jobs, millions, we hope,” he said, without evidence.
Cruz asked him, “so for those workers, the answer is, somebody else will get a job?”
“The answer is that we are very eager to see those workers continue to be employed in good-paying union jobs, even if they might be different ones,” Buttigieg said, confirming that tens of thousands of workers would now need to find new jobs because of Biden’s reckless decision.
“Well, I fear that decision is the front end of a whole series of regulatory decisions – one after the other after the other, that will be eliminating union jobs, that will be eliminating manufacturing jobs, that will be eliminating energy jobs, and that is altogether out of step with what the American people want,” Cruz said.
Fact check: true.
Transportation reporter for Politico Sam Mintz tried to rip into Cruz for asking the question, falsely claiming that Buttigieg – President Biden’s nominee for secretary of transportation – won’t oversee the pipeline.

The Transport Department does, however, oversee much of the logistics of building new pipelines.
Biden sure is off to a good start…if his intention is to make millions more Americans unemployed.
